Looking to replace my Leupold Vari X III 3.5-10X 40.  It is on a Weatherby Mk V 30-06 Stainless.  I've looked at Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10 X 44 and 50, Swaro Z3  3-10 X42 and Leupold VX3 3.5-10 X50.  I was really impressed with the Conquest scopes.   Do you think I should go with the Conquest or wait and check on the new Leupold VX-6 ?  Havent been able to see on in person and not alot of input online about them.Loco

Are you in a rush to get the new scope or is hunting season still a few months away?

You can't go wrong with either the Conquest or z3. The VX-6 I can't vouch for 'cause I haven't used one.

After owning Coquest & lupy's the best glass is in the Swaro, that now resides on my go to .22lr rifle! The Z3 is a steal with the Anniversary price here at SWFA!

I agree, if you can afford the Z3 you wont be disappointed.

I agree Swaro glass is top notch ... no question and if it was in the budget would be the way to go.  Another option I didn't see mentioned is the Accupoint 2.5-10 ... not swaro but for the money a strong contender in my opinion.

So far everyone has talked me into a Swaro. Now the senerio:  There's about 5 min of legal shooting time left, finally the big one comes out and light is fading what would you rather have 3-10 x 42 or the 4-12 x 50?

The 3-10 actually has the slightly larger exit pupil at max power, but either will do fine.

For a straight up hunting rifle, I guess I like the 3-10.  No focus to mess with.  Just pull the rifle up and shoot.  Either one will be fine.  If you shoot a lot in low light, pick one with a good heave reticle like a 4a style, or heavy duplex.

In lowlight I would take this one ...

Again ... swaro makes awesome glass ... I really like the Illum system on the accupoints and I have used this scope on low light ... and it works great.

Sapper,  that Trijicon looks good.  How do you rate Trijicon compared the newer Leupold VX-3 series glass?

By the way I too am a Equal Opportunity Hater retired  (GySgt USMC) ret
