I am looking at a vintage Stith mount for my Savage 99.  I have a Leupold Mark ll Gold Ring 1.5x5 and to be able to use the mount it would be necessary to remove the adjustment turret to slide the scop through the rear ring which is solid except for a slot at the top.  Is it recommended to do so and if so how would one go about doing it?

thank yoiu

Go to the Boost the post count thread and increase your post count to over 50. With a 50 post count you can then post a picture. This will help a lot.  I am having a hard time with which version of the Stith you are using. Some are for a 7/8th scope rather than a more modern 1" scope. Dissembling the scope will be counter productive.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.
