Remington 799 7.62x39 inbound.

Any help with rings and mounts is appreciated.

I want to go SS10x for a scope, the one on my 10FP .308 is fantastic!

Thanks!

If you start with here for rings http://www.swfa.com/p-11226-warne-maxima-2-piece-base.aspx your ring options are huge.
Sticking with the theme of the firearm and the mounts I would consider the http://www.swfa.com/c-1750-warne-maxima-quick-detach-30mm-rings.aspx
I own Warnes on other firearms and they are very good.
You could certainly get the old standby http://www.swfa.com/p-11757-weaver-45-top-mount-base.aspx. Weavers just plain work; they are reliable and take a beating. I have used them a ton in the last thirty five years.

Interesting choice of rifles how do you plan to use it? Is it a target gun, hunting gun or tactical gun?  What distances do you plan to shoot and what is your reason for selecting the 7.62x39 cartridge?

Thanks all!

It'll mostly be for target/varmint shooting.

distances will be 150-550 yds.

I've been impressed with the x39 in AK's/ curious to see how it performs in a bolt rifle w/scope.

Im concerned about the SS for this rig, as it seems a little big?

Base selection seems limited, looking into Seekins though...thanks again!

You put those mounts on.

Then you buy 1" or 30mm Weaver rings depending on the tube size of  your scope.

You get the high rings if you have a 50mm objective bell on your scope.

You get medium rings if you have a 40mm objective.

You get low rings if you  have a 32 or 28mm objective.

Out of personal taste, I would not put an SS on it.
I would put a VXI 2x7 Leupold on it.

Or you can find them here.

As it says at the Remington site, Warne 806M and 880M will fit.

Thanks Clark; appreciate the help w/ the hardware!

Im leaning toward a different scope, love the SS, but just not right for this application-

Really want something w/ mil dot reticle or close to that.

If it helps the competitor is still more expensive than SWFA as usual.
