Arms & Leupold both make good quick release mounts for Remington SA rifles. Both are reasonably priced and fairly durable. I would only recommend use of QD mounts if you plan on swapping scopes or switching to a NV optic. I would have to agree with Cheaptrick, Badger Ordance makes the best base / rings in the business. Run the 1 piece 20 moa base (you may not need the extra 20 moa now but you will want it later) and high rings for the scope / rifle combo you have. |

I have some Leupold quick release scope mounts on an Encore - which makes some sense because you can switch barrels and optics or take the rifle apart to make it transport in a size that does not scream"rifle". But the cold hard truth is only use quick release mounts if there is a serious reason to do so like a need to switch to a night vision scope or tactical (Aimpoint or EOTech) for close in tactical work. As mentioned above the Badger with 20moa is the right set up for this long heavy rifle, and if not that Leupold standard rings and base will be accurate and cost less. You will have to let us know how you like the scope. |
