Sorry for the question. I did see the thread with the links to the charts for mounts/bases. I'm still confused (new to the world of bolt rifles and scopes, etc.).

I originally ordered a Badger 30mm ring/base setup only to find out they're on back order for some time (according to SWFA).

The person I spoke with over the phone suggested the Leupold Mark 4 setup. So, I went ahead and ordered the following:

Mark 4, 30mm rings, High
Mark 4, 1 piece base, aluminum (for short action 700 model rifles).

Will these work with my SS10x42 scope??

Steve

You sure dont need high rings for a 42mm objective.
I would call Brownell's (Montezuma, IA) as their techs seem to know a lot about mounts.

Well, called Brownell's and the tech support was helpful. The guy I spoke with said the high Leupold Mark 4 mounts appear to be a bit high for a 42mm objective scope, but he said to give them a try. He said what works for one person does not always work for the next. We'll see how it goes.

Went with the medium's (.84") instead. Unfortunately, they're on backorder for two weeks

Well you could go with S&K. Very strong and sleek unless you want the Star Wars techno look.
