I'm still debating what scope to put on a rem 700 B&C 270 wsm. The two i'm looking at is the bushnell 4200 2.5x10x40 and  zeiss conquest 3.5x10x44. I plan on using this gun for about any type of hunting from 10 yds to 500 yds but the. I hunt in about any weather conditions so i was considering the 4200 since it has the rainguard.

Thanks for any advice.

other than rainguard the zeiss is a tough scope to beat. i love my 4200 elite for hunting in foul weather. if zeiss put loutec (zeiss version of rainguard) on the conquest i cant think of a scope under $500 that would beat the conquest.

Either is a fine choice in my opinion, no arguments from me.

The 4200 is the way to go if your hunting.Treat yourself to a nice set of Warne mounts with the money you save.

Whats so nice about Warne mounts? I usually go with Leupold std medium rise mounts.

pardon me for asking but what can you get 10 yards from that you would want to use a 270wsm on...you must be one stealty human being...

guys at the spike camp where i hunted elk would occasionally check anything i brought into camp for powder burns as it is a well known fact that god and nature have conspired against me to keep me from ever shooting a world class elk...you guys should try putting god and nature's conspiracy into your ballistic equations like i have to...zp...

I have a Zeiss Conquest 3.5x10 44 on my Browning 270 wsm. It has worked well for the past few years. Very bright and clear. I love the Zeiss Conquest scopes. They are a great value for what you are getting.

Can't go wrong with either scope.  Good luck!

handsome guns those Boone and Crockett 700's... both scopes are an excellent choice.. Rainguard would be the clincher though for the  4200

What about the variable Super Sniper?  My guess is that you'd find them more durable than either a Zeiss or Bushy.

I think i made my decision which will be a 4200 but now i'm thinking about a 50 mm objective but i'll have to go with high rise rings and i'm not sure how i'll like them since all my other guns have Leupold medium rise on them.

Do you do a lot of low light hunting?  If so then the 50mm would help a little if not I would stick with the 40mm to keep it a little lower.
