After I took my friend out with his 270, I went out later and did some shooting with my 22-250.  It was warm (65) but the wind had picked up to about 15 mph from the right (or west as you look at the pictures.  I was not to happy with my groups, but once I got down to business with the gophers I was quite happy.  Was hitting almost every shot at 225 to 320 yards.  Great practice using mildot ranging too.  Anyway a few pics of my range for the day.

My range for the next few months.  This is where I was hoping to get out to a mile but I think maybe 1200 is about as far as I can go from this spot.  I need to check a few others.

This is my bench for the day.  Actually it works really good for me.

The field is much flatter than it looks right here.  I can actually go out to about 1200 yards if I want to.

Hornady 50 gr Vmax - These are factory cartridges.

Allow me to post a few more photos for your veiwing pleasure.  And yes, I know I am spoiled!!

Bridger Mountains to the East.

Bridgers Again.

This picture as well as the zoomed on in the original post was taken through my binoculars.  Big Smile  I was amazed I could do it.  You can even see some of the mirage in these pictures.

As always, if anyone would like the high resolution copies, PM me with your email, and I will send them to you.

Excellent  I am hoping to fly those mountains here soon before the snow melts.  Watching the meltoff from the air is a cool experience.

Wow! 1200 yards is a long ways for a 22-250! Let me know how that works out for you.Cool Actually I pushed mine out to 700 yards last week. It's not really set up for long range work (Vanguard deluxe with an old Redfield scope on it) but it got the job done. I must say it's fun to see how far you can push a little 55 gr. bullet. Keep it up Helo.

Hahaha good one trigger!  Wink  I only go to about 600 with the 22-250.  The 1200 would be for my 300 win mag.

Thanks for the great pictures, my 22-250 is my favorite prairie dog rifle you can shot all day and not have a black and blue shoulder. That looks like a fantastic shoot area I wish we had a long range like that available around here. Those pictures make me miss flying over the mountains in that area, takes me back about 30 years
Thanks again
Duce  Big Smile

No, 100 yards, which is why I am not too happy with the group.  I know the gun shoots better than that.  As soon as I get my reloading bench down here from Lewistown, I will put together some hand loads and get that group touching.

15 miles would be my guess.
