Hey guys

I recently came across a Redfield Prototype. I am thinking it was a prototype for the revange and battlezone scopes. it is a 5x25x52 with side focus. on the scope it says "NOT FOR SALE, PROTOYPE"

Welcome to OT.  Where did you find such a thing?  Prototypes can be great or they can be really bad.  They are seldom just "good" in my experience.

Prototypes are generally lower than retail and whatever you can get... especially since they are usually stamped  NOT FOR SALE... as yours is...

This is when Meade was going to make them.

Such a prototype is very valuable has high end glass and is very expensive.

Does it have " wings" around the R...???

i don't believe so, this was made by leupold after we bought the rights to redfield. it was made over seas so i am assuming it is less qaultiy glass.

if it does not have this on the side it is not the scope I am thinking of.
So you are correct.

If it did than the 5-25 would be awes awesome to have.

Some of the Jap made Redfields are equal to Zeiss if not better in the Low tier.

It is depending on when and who owned them.

Meade had great plans and had 20 different offerings on their website for a few months.

they have been bought and sold a few times ATK, Blount, ATK Meade, than back to ATK I think and L&S after that.
