Redfields are being made in Japan, which should be decent, the old Redfield went out of business back in the late 90's.I have a couple of Redfields made in Denver Colorado.Another name is Deadfield which is funny, the Ultimate Illuminator is the best scope Redfield made and the new ones are even better from what I hear.

I own a couple of the (now discontinued) Jap.made Illuminators.  IMHO they are every bit the quality of my 4200, including low light performance.  They are EXCELLENT!.  The only thing that I don't like is the "gimmicky" widefield view.  All that they did was block off the top and the bottom to make it look wider.
