Haven't heard a thing.  To be honest,I don't know why they'd even bother.

Redfield were very popular when they were made in the U.S. like Weaver.

New Scopes?  Loco  Most likely they wanted to kill the brand off.

I just miss the American made scopes like Redfield and Weaver.

We'll wait and see.  Maybe Redfield will be the branding (testing ground) for Leupold's Chinese lensed product.

I believe Leupold will use the Redfield name for a cheaper product.  That's just my hunch.

The Rifleman series scopes do not seem to be ringing most experienced shooter's bell.  Chinese lens, mexican Maquiladora assembly equals high "US" (value added for assy and packaging) content, plus cheaper scope.  Hide and watch.

It's too bad that an honorable, old US manufacturer name like Redfield gets pimped by Marketeers for a cheap product, growth franchise for Leupold.  Is progress always this ugly?  So called "goodwill" (market value) for Redfield becomes badwill for owners of the US built Redfield Gunsite Company products because their scopes will be worth nothing.  Also, forget the "Lifetime" Redfield warrantee that Leupold won't honor now but they will pimp the poor old Redfield name for fun and profit.

I would not be so hard on Leupold, they are trying to survive in a market that knows nothing else than pimping, the whole US economy has been pimped for sometime now.

Look at GM, pimped to the max, at least Leupold is trying to be a Ford, I bought a Bushnell last week and I feel like a john, I'll have to buy a leupold or burris next

That's true.  However, sometimes Leupold is schizoid about whether they are a Ford or or Lincoln.  Lincoln is American, Ford is not.  Globalization is a slippery slope.  Once you crack and buy into that game there is no going back to claiming pure "American Built" anymore.  Leupold is playing word games with that "American Built", guilt card.  Once "Globalized", there're on the road to polygot perdition.  The way back up the yellow brick road to S&B ethnic purity is gone forever!
