Howdy all! New here from Pa. I recently got this older Red field Wide field monocular. It isin the original box, with the original little black leather bag and lanyard string. It says on the one end Red field 8x24-18 Widefield. On the underside it is stamped Japan with TL in an oval above it. On the box it says item no. 126084. Address on the box is
5800 East Jewell Ave. Denver Colo. 80222. Any info on this thing would be appreciated. It is in very nice condition, looks like new. I tried Google and couldn't find anything. Also anyone have any idea if this thing is rare or not and what it might be worth. Thank you for any help. I also got an older scope with it, but I'll ask about that in another thread.
Thanks, Don

Well, about all I can do is to say welcome to OT Big Smile

I don't think I have a clue about your monocular...actually I pretty sure that's the case.  The best suggestion I can give you is give Redfield a call.  That might not work too well, since only the name exists as a different company under the Leupold roof today.  It is a crap shoot to see if there is any historical information still available.

I will put some pics of it up tomorrow. It is a pretty interesting little piece. I spent about 2 hours this evening trying to find anything about it but came up empty again. I'm thinking about selling it because I really don't need it, but I have no idea what its worth. And thanks for the welcome. Spent a little time looking around the site, seems like some pretty knowledgeable people here. I have a couple scopes I want to try to get some info about also, and I come across stuff all the time that I know just about enough to get myself into trouble, so I think this site will become a regular haunt of mine. Thanks again, Don
