What would be a good red dot for a S&W 617 .22?

Surprised nobody has offered an opinion yet. It seems that red-dot sights aren't used very much by very many posters on this site. I can't offer any advice, other than that I would stay away from the real cheap ones...

I have a aimpoint 5000xd on a hunting rifle. If its to big to be mounted on a pistol, maybe you should try aimpoint micro Its very small to be a red dot sight

its not the dot, its the mount, the dot you finally get to use will depend more on the mount you select. -- best are c-more then you come down-- just like scopes need to give use and price range

I have used Aimpoint in the past and this model http://www.swfa.com/pc-9225-1268-aimpoint-micro-h-1-red-dot-sight.aspx is small and should be nicely balanced on the Smith. What length barrel?
+1 on the C-More, also. Both of these are high quality equipment.
