WOW ain't i just a lucky guy?
I'm going to Germany on a driven hunt. YippeeYippeeYippee
BUT... I have no scope - red dot  i can use for the purpose. SO i'm on the look out for a great thing for no money. LocoLocoLocoLoco

I have been advised to get a red dot scope with, as little magnification as possible, and up to app 4 or so. Today i went to the gunshop. I looked at a Leupold Hog scope with red dot and a Zeiss. Have to admit they were to expensive at the moment, cause i'm not quite sure if driven hunts is my drill.
I was told that the hunt's in Germany the game is driven out slowly ( not like Poland where they come flying) so there should be a good chance to get a safe shot. Often the shots are on very close range.

I hope to find something for around 200-250$.

Do they sell Vortex over there?  They have a couple red dots that are decent and would be a good starter for you.  I think they are around $200ish IIRC.

Trijicon 1-4 with red post would be my pick
Second choice would be an Aimpoint.
not sure you can get those there but if you can they are the ticket.

Supertool:
I have found two models here, the Strike fire and the SPARC. Looking at reviews it looks like most are happy with the SPARC.
Do you have any expierence with any of these?

Wes: NO doubt,, the Trijion would be a great piece, but im looking for something at max 250 $.
The Bushsnells you post doesn't look bad at all.
What would be the best choise the Bushsnell 1-4Trophy or the Vortex Sparc?

I also just got a Redfield Counterstrike red dot I am testing out now.  So far I like it pretty good.  I just got it last week so I haven't got allot of time with it but thus far it is surprising me with how much I do like it.

CoffeeMy preference would be the 1.5-6x42mm Bushnell in the under $300 range.  But I have a 1-4 on one rifle here and once I put a piece of foam rubber in the battery compartment to hold the battery in position it works flawlessly. Red dot scopes have a coating on the front glass that looks amber - it actually reduces the light transmission some.  Traditional scopes with an illuminated reticle do not suffer the same issue.   On an Aimpoint it doesnt matter so much because of their unique pattented design where the dot does not have to be centered to be on target with other brands its best if the dot is centered.  The 1.5-6x42 will be 7mm exit eye pupil very bright at 6x the  1-4x24 will be 6mm exit eye pupil at 4x still pretty good and bright as it gets at 3x.  The bushnells will still be useable with a dead battery, not  the illumination but the traditional crosshairs always work.  If it were at all possible to bump the price up I would go Aimpoint with one of these even though there is less light transmission --- with an aimpoint, you can even close the front lens shade keep both eyes open and the right eye will superimpose the dot on the target seen by the left eye very fast very accurate and why the army issues them.   I have this scope and like it a lot.   It is more money but the best choice short of a Trijicon in my opinion.

Latest!!!

A friend of mine just bought a Aimpoint Hunter. He shoots a Blaser like mine so he has the mount too. He went to Croatia this morning on a Drivenhunt. He will let me borrow his set up for my trip to Germany, so im good for now.

SVT: Great review ExcellentExcellentExcellent. Thank you.

Wes: i hear a lot of my buddies praise the Aimpoints like you do, so  maybe you are right about stretching the budget a bit. Now i at least get a chance to check out the Aimpoint my buddy bought.

Thanks for your time guys, Thunbs Up
