I got the H-S Precision stock on my SPS Varmint on eBay for around $200. I like it a lot.

JG, I like how the spider web has been carried over to the bolt shroud on the Tikka. Is that a 3.5-10 on the Remington?

Thank you sir.  That scope is actually a 4.5-14x50 VX3 LR model.  Although it's been great so far (accurate tracking, good glass, and reliable) , it wouldn't necessarily be my first choice on that rifle (first 50mm I've ever had).  I basically got it for about 1/2 price so I thought I'd try it out.  I usually stay in the 36-42mm obj range. Some of the VX3 4.5-14x40's, to me, seem to be a little finicky/ not really easy to get behind, but maybe this 50mm makes it easier because it seems to be more user friendly.  Not in the same way the VX6 is, but very usable.

On the spider web.....as you know the shroud on the T-3's is black.  I had a can of flat olive spray paint and some black webbing so I thought I'd spray it to match the stock.  If I screwed it up I'd just strip it, spray flat black on it and be back where I started.  I kind of like it myself....it's different.  I started to buy a Cooper 54 in 7-08, but this 7-08 T3 shoots so good I've put that off for a while.

I have a B&C medalist and an HS Precision.  I would say the B&C is pretty comparable to the HS really.

I really like the Tikka, JG.

Now that B&C is making a stock for them, I have been looking for a used T3.

I'll second the advice to look for a used one on the 'Hide. People upgrade all the time and you could get a deal. I've found the higher-end stocks do make a difference.
Reaction time is a factor...
