Take a look at the Surefire (unofficially I am saying this I believe you will notice a decible reduction...)vI hate to even publish this but look at the baf... design of the surefire Muzzle Break...  Does it make sense that a Supressor manufacutrer would want to add noise to a supressed product line...Uhhhhh  noooooo...Not all tacticlly minded but practically minded...

I have the Knoxx axium stock on a .300 wsm, it works really well, it has less felt recoil than my .308. Right now I have a Nikkon Buckmaster scope with about 3 1/2" of eye relief, and have yet to hit my eye, it moves more but not that much, you can also adjust the length of pull enough that you could probably go with a scout scope on it if for some reason you wanted to.

That is interesting. I have long harbored a hatred of muzzle brakes (and those who manufacture and sell them; Big Grin), but an effective one that truly dampened or at least failed to amplify muzzle blast would be a great addition to almost any hard kicking rifle.
I'm still a bit skeptical though.

Well I took the plunge last night and ordered a Knoxx stock for the 375 Ruger I have coming.  Found the cheapest price at $269.95 with free shipping and in stock at a competitor I shouldn't mention and said what the hell it is my birthday so I ordered it.

When I get everything put together next spring I will let you know if it works.  I have a choice of an IOR 6x42 or a Zeiss Diavari 2.5x10x50 to put on it.  The IOR is supposed to have 4" eye relief and the Zeiss 3.54" but I need to take them out and verify by actual measurement.  I think I read somewhere that the rearward travel of the stock is 1 3/4" but you have to add the normal recoil travel on to that I assume.

I think if I paint the Knoxx stock it will look pretty normal.  The only thing I'm worried about is the scope hitting my forehead.

I have some experience with the compstock.  It works as advertised, but you do want to make sure you have a scope with a fair amount of eyerelief.  If memory serves me right, the scope does not come back all that much more that it normally would, may be an inch or so.  However, the flip side of the coin is that there is less impact on your cheek from the stock (less rise).  I would expect any scope with 4" of eye relief would be perfectly safe.  Even 3.5" is probably enough.

Appears to be well made

butt retracted

375 Ruger still a month away or so.  The bottom metal fits perfect.

Update

Finished gun

Wanted to use RL17 with the 375 Ruger and the 270 TSX but there is no data out there.  So I decided to start at what I figured was a safe load at 74 grains

TSX 270 RL17 74.0 3.285   2552
TSX 270 RL17 74.5 3.285   2564
TSX 270 RL17 75.0 3.285   2578
TSX 270 RL17 75.5
