I have a Tika 3006..

Looking for a Good reasonably priced scope for it....
Considering a Pentax Gameseeker or GameseekerII
or a Redfield  3-9 X40.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Gameseeker and GameseekerII ?

How about opinions on the Redfield vs. Pentax ?

Other recommendations in the 80-150 range?

The Vortex is hard to beat (I just bought a 3-9x40mm Viper for not much more than the 2-7x), but Pentax offers a pretty good riflescope as well.

I believe the Gameseeker IIs are just a revised version of the original Gameseekers, which I think are now discontinued for the most part.
A lot of Pentax designs incorporate features used on Burris scopes (such as as the Posilock feature on Lightseekers, which is also found on Burris Sig Select, XTRs,EuroDiamonds, etc and Pentax Pioneer II scopes, which are rebadged Burris Fullfield IIs). I would expect quality to be roughly on par with the Burris scopes. Reviews online look good for them, too.

Pentax does have a good warranty. Their optics are well liked in the astronomy and spotting scope world, but I seldom see much about their rifle scopes.

I ordered a gameseeker for a project I had in mind and returned it. It was a clear enough scope but it was big and heavy and I knoew I just wasn't going to like it. The redfield on the other hand is a good choice as is the vortex mentioned above. If you want a pentax I would suggest that you click on the forum heading SWFA auctions and look for the pentax pioneer that they have listed for $129. They are closing out this line in favor of the pioneer II which is not the same thing. The original pioneers are really just burris fullfield II scopes rebadged for pentax I don't believe the pioneer II is made by burris though they look the same. I have one of the original pioneers and it is a great scope especially for $129. So of these 3 (vortex, pioneer, and redfield)I think you would have a marked improvement over the gameseekers imho.

The FFII, Redfield and the Viper would all be nice choices in the $150.00 range.  I believe the viper has the best glass among these scopes, but you are limited to the 2-7x32, which may or may not be an issue.
