Hi,
I just got a Burris Black Diamond 8-32x50mm model # 200942, I already have a Burris Signature Select 8-32x44mm model # 200867, and although I have had great service from this scope, I thought that I was 'upgrading'
by getting a Black Diamond which have a bigger objective, more MOA adjustements and is also more expensive than the Signature.

The problem is that the Black Diamond isn't nowhere as clear as the Signature scope, I can't get a clear image no matter where is the side focus setting, and above 12x, the image as no contrast compared to my other scopes, it's kinda milky.
Also, although it's stated as a 1/8 in./click scope, the target turrets are marked with 1/4 settings and the elevation turrets have the numbers backwards!!

Right now, I'm really disappointed with that scope, I sent an email to Burris Customer Service, but didn't receive any return yet.
Has any of you got a bad Black Diamond High power scope?

Thanks

Wcat,
Sorry to hear about your problem with the Burris.  Give them a call, send another email, send a registered letter,  sounds like something is up with that scope.  Don't give up and settle.
Your last paragraph is exactly why I buy American made, Leupold scopes.  They are most responsive, answer the phone and they offer, hands down, no doubt, the absolute best customer support and service in the industry.
Good luck,
Brian

That very surprising! But it definitely sounds like you have an issue with your Black Diamond. I've had nothing but excellent luck with all of my Burris optics. I've met several of the fellas from Burris and I'm sure they would do whatever it takes to make it right for you.

Sounds like they took one out of the Leaper's pile and put a Burris sticker on it. Sad

I would definitely give them a call. They have been very helpful and easy to deal with for me. 970-356-1670
I would also mention your other scope. That might open the door even wider.

Definitely call them first.  I have had great service from them when calling.  Bummer you are having a problem.  I really like my BD although it is only 4-16.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was waiting for Easter holiday to get thru, if I don't get a reply to my email by Wed, I'll give them a call.
Also, just a hint maybe, the side focus wheel really feel mushy, like it's slipin' from the inside.

I'll let you know.

I have not had a problem with a scope, but when I called them concerning a poor set of rings, they sent me a new pair, no questions asked. The only real inconvenience was they were shut down temporarily for inventory. But after I got through to someone, no problems at all!

The Black Diamond is also an American Made Scope from an American Company. The Burris customer service seems to be pretty good these day's so hopefully they will take care of your problem.
