A friend just bought a new scope which I fitted for him. It is a Sako and we used Lynx dovetail bases. same as Leupold. The rings are pillar mounted with two screws from either side for some gross windage correction.

I put the scope on, laid it in the gunholder and boresighted to 25 yds. Used the pillar screws for windage and then dialed elevation.

Pulled the trigger on a round.... dead nuts in the bull.

Took her to 100 m and pulled the trigger. 1/4 inch of the bull. Two more rounds to check. said here is your rifle...never needed to touch the dials!!!!!!

That will never happen again!!

This is how I sight in all my guns.  Bore sight, then 2 shots to zero one to verify.  3 shots is all it ever takes.

I also use this method, just that this time I did not had to do any dialling. I kept my cool and told the guy that is how I allways do it and I cannot understand all the fuss about sighting a scope!!!
