I have read the press releases and would like to try this in several cartridges.  Anybody have any first hand experience to share about this powder?

..................I don`t think you`ll find anyone as of yet here on this forum who has tried it! No reports yet.  I`m on a hot waiting list for 2 lbs myself to try in my 300 WSM.

Apparently, 20,000 lbs of this stuff, will be or has been loaded on a boat and will or is on its way for US distribution sometime this month! When the dealers get it, may be another story!

I spoke with the distributor that I usually purchase supplies from today.  They have 3,200 lbs on order of which 750 lbs are already allocated to backorders.  Their shipment was supposed to arrive last week.  Now they are being told possibly next week or the week after.  I could have gotten a couple of lbs a while ago, but I had just received a powder/primer order and I wasn't willing to pay shipping & hazmat for 2 lbs of powder.

I`ll just wait until my dealer gets some in!.............My chrony testing with this stuff will be very interesting!

With RL 17, Alliant with a 24" 300 WSM, went from 2978 fps with a 180 gr. Speer (the best they had achieved with any powder so far), up to 3082 fps with 66 gr of RL17,,, a +104 fps increase. Other cartridges were even better!!!

Although I`ve gotten 2932 fps (tops) from my 16.5" tubed compact (180 gr SST) with good enough accuracy as a hunting load and 2859 fps with excellent accuracy, it will be interesting to see what the new RL17 hi tech granulated powder can deliver. 180 gr @ 3000 fps from a 16.5" tube? Shocked.............Well Well!.............Stay tuned!
