Anyone compared the Vortex Razor directly to the Leupold Golden Ring HD? I'm mostly interested in the 10x42 configuration. I'm considering picking up a Razor. Obviously, the ergonomics are going to be quite different. What I'm mostly interested in is how they compare in brightness, CA control, contrast, and resolution. Thanks.

I've looked through both of them and thought they were quite nice, but settled on the Meopta's.  I think all three of these are pretty comparable, but let your eyes be the judge.  Every ones perception is a little different, same goes for which one feels right in your hands.

I tried out 5 mid-sized binocs this summer - Bushnell Excursion EX 7x36, Leupold Yosemite 6x30, Vortex Fury 8x28, Zen Ray EDII 7x36, and the Leupold Gold Ring non-HD 8x32. I sent everything back and kept the Gold Rings - and I've owned 3 different Swarovski binocs and have a Zeiss Victory and Leica compact now. The Gold Rings may not be an alpha binoc but they were plenty good enough.

Thx for the suggestions. I was considering the Bushnell Fusion 1600 as well, since I do a lot of hunting. The range finder has gotten great reviews. Unfortunately, most also say that there is a very noticeable green/blue tint to the optics.  Too bad, or I would definitely consider those.

I tried a razor indoors at Sportsmans Warehouse last year, but  and wasn't overly impressed. I still haven't seen the GR HD. I honestly think the Razor display may have been the issue though... I'm going to try to check them out again and see how they look. Was just curious if anyone had compared them side by side.
