I am wondering if I will be able to range gophers on flat ground from 200-400 yards with something like a Bushnell Scout 1000?  If not how do you determine yardage for this application?  I want to build a cheat sheet to tape to my stock and dial in elevation and windage with my turrets based on yardage.  I have a Savage VLP .223 with Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40 AO Mil-Dot target turret scope.  The turrets are 1/4 MOA.  Thanks.

I dont know anythign about the rangefinder, but as far a ballistic card. go to

What I do is draw out a the land on a peice of paper. It helps if you got alot of objects to use as "markers" draw these on ur paper. If its not a tree or rock,  or something just a pond then take  good size board board and set it about where u going to be shooting from. then walk to the object turn around and range the distance. mark it on your paper. do alot of objects and difference distances. then when you want to shoot jsut sit downa nd look at ur paper and u will know  about 10 yard or 20 yards past this object  or short of.
I dont have a range finder so I use google earth and milling to get my ranges.
