I need a decent (read inexpensive) spotting scope for the range.  50 to 150 Yds.  Will not get wet.  Looking at a Celestron Ultima 80.  Looked at Winchesters and some other off brand types and they are almost unusable. Trying to stay under $250.  Anyone actually have one they can recommend for that kinda of money/use?
Thanks!

As I recall they get decent reviews. If it doesn't need to be waterproof then a well reviewed model that uses standard 1.25in eyepieces will work nicely, as you find decent eyepieces for the magnification that you want.

The Ultima 80 mm scopes are some of the best inexpensive scopes on the market. I suggest the Stokes Sandpiper 65 mm, at about $325. At 15x or 20x is is as good as a Swarovski or Leica.

A house, no. Who would want to look at the same thing through the same binocular forever/ I had a mobile observation deck built for my pellagic birding trips. Not for binoculars, for people.
