I currently have a rem 700 SPS 26" .308 rifle on the rifle i have a Zeis conquest 6.5-20x50 scope mounted with a Leopold one piece base and Burris signature rings and it works fine for shooting at home 50-150 yards but when I join a club that has the 1000 yd range i think i will need a +20 or +30 MOA base. What brand base and mount do you recommend? Farrell ?

When the UPS guys comes bearing gifts I will be dropping that .308 into a HS precision pro PST025

I am also trying to find a Jewell trigger in stock for that riffle.

several good brands.  I like seekins stuff allot, great quality.  Of course I have used EGW with good results too.  That scope doesn't have a lot of travel if I recall so you might need a 30MOA but I think 20MOA would be fine.  I'm sure someone with better knowledge will chime in shortly.

It looks like that scope only has about 45 MOA of internal adjustment, so even a 20 minute rail might be to much for a 100 yard zero. This depends on sight height, and your rifle. Also if you luck out, and get a 100 yard zero, sight picture and "eye box" at the limits of travel, can be tricky.

Wow thats great info to know so I don't want to lock my self out of shooting at home with a 20 MOA base @ 100 yards but when i join the club and want to shoot further i will need 20 or maybe even 30 MOA. That's very helpful! Any brands you recommend?

I have a Zeiss 6.5-20x50.  It does not bottom out to zero at 100 yards on my 20 MOA base but it is pretty close, I have about 6 clicks down left when zeroed.  Depending on your projectile and velocity you will probably need 33-37 MOA of adjustment to get to 1000 yards.  A 10 MOA base with your scope should have enough elevation to get you to 1000 yards.

MY math was wrong.  I have a Zeiss 6.5-20x50 scopes on my 223 and my 308.  The scope on my 223 is on a 20 MOA base and the one on my 308 is on a 0 MOA base.

The scope on the 223 with the 20 MOA base almost is bottomed out zeroed at 100.

I have shot my 308 with the scope on a 0 MOA base to 700 yards using 18.25 MOA of elevation with a 100 yard zero.  To get to 1000 yards I need a total of 34 MOA, or 16 MOA more elevation.  I don't think a 10 MOA base will do it.  It will take 20 MOA.

Larue or Seekins? Rail and Ring. Who's is better or does it not matter? I do like the look of the Seekins 4 x 6 rings. I am guessing they are both Aluminum. From a Rings standpoint I like the Seekins better but I am looking for advice.    Thanks!
