Not sure if this is the correct forum.  I have a bolt rifle in 30-06.  I am looking to get a mounting system for a new Leupold 1" 3-9x40 1" scope.  This rifle will be used for hunting and 95% of shot opportunities will be under 200 yards ...

1.  One recommendation is the Talley 1 Piece (base and ring together).  Looks to be strong and simple with perhaps not as much chance for something getting out of line/loose?

2.  Another is a one piece rail with rings ... either the EGW Base with the Burris Extreme rings . Seems like this would give me the most adjustability on sight picture/eye relief?

3.   ... or the Warne one piece steel  base with the Warne Steel Rings...strong steel ? ... most expensive ...

4.  lastly something like the Leupold standard 2 piece base and rings ..

I am not sure just "how solid/strong" etc.  Might someone out there have some feedback/recommendations?

I agree on the Talley, I have a few of the base-ring combos on rifles and have been very pleased.

Talley all the way.  I have them on my 45-70 and 7lb 300 wsm.  They are very strong.
