Hi all,
I have a Sako Quad Rifle and would like to fit Quick Release Rings to enable me to change the barrels without loosing zero.

I intend to fit BSquare 11mm to weaver base.

What are the better quality QD Warne / Leupold QD or QRW

Your help in deciding would be appreciated.

Danny

I have a set of Leupold QD on a Sako 300H&H.
They are strong, well made and delivers about a 1/4 inch back to zero after removal. If you intend taking them on and off a lot, the metal to metal parts could wear and the tolerances increase. Once on the rifle, the mounts hold their POI.
Just make sure that you actually see the ring set or can easily return them. Their low set is very low. Medium is actually low etc. I have the low set, and the bell and bolt just clears the required areas.

Many thanks,
the scopes I will be using are IOR 16x42 & Kahles 3-9x42.

What would you consider the better Low or Medium. I do like the scopes to sit low as possible.

Also what would be better QD or QRW ? Leupolds and what is the difference ?

Danny

The low mounts would be better, but you need to be sure they would clear your bolt on recycling the spent cartridge. My scope has 50mm bell, and still cleared the barrel with liitle to spare.
The QD has a pin that pushes into the base and then locks.
The QRW has cross slots like the Warneke system. I think they are better then the QD, but last I checked Leupold did not make them for a Sako dovetail receiver, so you are stuck with the QD.

Thanks again.

Would the BSquare 11mm to Weaver Base be suitable. As the Sako Quad has 11mm dovetail grooves.

If so what model No. Leupold QRW would be advisable to fit the BSquare Base.

I have the Sinclair Magazine. Or would you suggest another US dealer who would ship to the UK.

Really appreciate your advise.

Thanks

Danny

I cannot help you much more then this. Go to the Leupold website.
The USA will not/are not permitted to ship to you (I think). I am not sure if Britain is on the list of prohibited countries for shipping. You may have to work through a dealer.

Just make sure you get a good set like 8shots suggests .... some are sloppy and believe me it'll throw the kill spot off . I don't use them .... some swear by them .
