Hey everyone! I am getting ready to buy either a zeiss conquest 3-9x40 or a bushnell 4200 3-9x40. Can anyone tell me if there are issues with the wire recticle detaching from the glass inside? I have only seen one post where the person mentioned it happening. I like the 4200 for its price and  the glass quality  even tho its a hair below the conquest. From what i have heard is, make sure its made in japan and not a side focus made in china also. I am also hearing  people being confused about the 3200, 4200, or the side focus( made in china ) is that  the one thats being discontinue? I would appreciate any feedback before i buy thanks

Is this Deja Vu?

I bet Zeiss & Leupold can't wait until the $199 4200's are gone.  Same with the $170 Vipers.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I have a 4200 and a Conquest and I've had no problem with the plex reticles.  I like the Conquest plex reticle more than the 4200 plex reticle, but a 4200 for only $199 is tough to pass on unless you have lots of $ or an application that just demands something more.

Zeiss and Leupold are likely to continue to pull their hair out bud...the "last of a dying breed" 4200s for $199 is the least of their problems.

Now you can find the new Elite series 3-9x40mm scopes for $199 as well, if you look around a bit and the only difference between the new Elite and the 4200 is the new Ultra Wide Band technology.

Yessir, when you have continuing deals like that going on, it makes for a hard sale of optics in the same performance category for nearly double the price.

I just received a 3200 (new, old stock) it is made in japan and very high quality. The glass is bright and sharp image all the way up to 12x limit. The AO ring is up front like the days before side-focus.
all controls are easily adjustable without binding. The 4200 is better than the 3200 I am told
