I just bought the DPMS Panther SASS and mounted an IOR Valdada 3-18x42mm.  I mounted the scope with the Valdada Tactical High Aluminum rings to get a good cheek and sight picture.

Great scope by the way, but that is a whol 'nother topic......

I took it to the range to get sighted in.   Once zero'd, I have only 16 MOA of elevation?! The scope has an internal range of 65 MOA.   Is it"normal" to be so far off from mechanical zero on a flat top?  65 MOA/2=32.5 MOA (mechanical zero.)

Is anybody else running a IOR scope on an LR-308?  Did you run into the same thing?  As it stands, I really can adjust to 650 yards and then start to use holdover.

Is my only option to mount the BO riser with 20MOA cant?  I am a paper puncher and want to stretch it out to 800+, but did not want to mount my optic on a riser.  I figured that once mounted I could at least get 25 MOA elevation, but that is not reality.

Any advice is helpful..Pics to follow.

That scope is designed to be used with at least a 20 MOA base.  Also the fact that you have it so high above your bore is going to take up your MOA as well.  If I were you I would look for a 30MOA base and get some medium rings for it.

Badger makes a 22MOA base for the AR

There are others available to up to 30 MOA.

Thanks for the link and the info.

I just wish that I could have sqweaked out a bit more elevation on the flat top.

I would certainly use the MOA base and drop the ring height. Get the scope as close to the bore as is possible.
