Hi,

A guy I work with knows I'm looking for a scope and he tells me he has a pretty old Weaver V9-B which is a 3-9x40 (he thinks).

He keeps forgetting to bring it in to work so I can look at it and I can't fnd much about it anywhere.

So until I can get a look at it, can anyone tell me about this scope and give me an idea of the value if the optics are still good?

Thanks.

Oh yeah, I need an idea of the length too, if anyone knows.

Thanks again.

I don't know precisely when the B models came out....sometime around 1967 to 1973....somewhere in there.  The V9 was a 3X9 ( and some series were 3 1/2 to nine...).  I believe the V9-B should have an Adjustable Objective.  It's 13 inches long and weighs 13 ounces.  It would be single coated like all scopes were back then.  Quarter clicks....but I've never had a B model and I don't know if they clicked or were friction.

If it is in good shape it ought to still work.  Value on ebay for those varies.  I wouldn't pay more than, like $70 for a magnificent specimen.  There are a million of them around on ebay.
