I have a SWFA SS 3-9x42 that I purchased used, but with the box, like new, etc. One thing I did notice is the part of it screwed onto the end that almost looks like a mini sunshade, the part that says the SWFA SS 3-9x42 on it is a slightly different color than the rest of the scope. Is this normal? It's a slightly lighter shade than the rest of the scope and than the sunshade. Is this normal, or is something up with this one? The scope looks identical to the pictures in every way with the exception of this.

I would try to get a pic showing it and either post it here, or email it to SWFA. Either way it will probably turn out that is just a minor difference in the anodizing of the parts.
On a side note, if it really bothers you...Krylon is your friend!
