I'd like to know primarily if anyone has used a QD mount on a bolt-action rifle, secondarily QD rings.

GG&G is the only one I've seen that specifically mentions a bolt-action QD mount, so I presume it's a bit lower than the ones accomodating BUIS on ARs. Not necessarily averse to QD rings. I'm looking for feedback and recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Around here a lot of people use QD mounts. Primarily these mounts are custom made by gunsmiths. While they are quite expensive ($300-$600), they offer 100% zero return upon reinstalling a scope. I have however never seen someone using two scopes with this.

Most European mount makers (EAW makes top of the line ones) make primarily quick detach mounts. It's a sort of tradition here.

Also, most high end rifle Euro makers (Mauser, Blaser, Sauer) make their rifles with special catches, especially designed for quick detachment of scopes.

Bottom line is QD mounts work very well. If you intend to use different scopes than QD is the way to go. The only problem is that these sort of mounts tend to be expensive...

Hope I helped...

Here's a video of the EAW Pivot mount I mentioned earlier.

I have Talley detachable mounts on several bolt rifles from 22-250 up to .375 H&H. They are strong and re-zero every time.

Thanks for the links and feedback. I wasn't aware of the Talley mounts, although I knew of Leupold's QRW rings.

I use Talley, Leupold QRW (made by Warne) and Warne QD bases/rings on all my rifles that have iron sights, just in case.  The rifles I own that are smooth barrel I mostly use the Leupold Dual Dovetail bases/rings.
