Sunday afternoon I decided to do some load testing and just fire a few off for some relaxation.  I had recenlty picked up some Barnes TTSX 130gr bullets in 30 cal to try.  I did some research as well as called barnes to ask them what they recommended.  I was limited to seating depth because of loading mag length but it all worked out.  These were loaded for the Blaser using the Viper PST 4-16.

The target below has a seperate target for each load from 47gr - 50grs in .5gr increments, The first set of targets is 48 & 48.5 the next two are 47 and 47.5, next two are 50 and below that a sighter target, and the last two are 49 & 49.5.  They were all shot 3 times each over a chrono.  It appears that they like to be pushed fast -

Here is a closer picture of the 50gr target, with no pressure signs at all I may try to move up a bit but I'm at 3190fps currently so I may just call it good.

While I was out there I also shot my savage 223 with the Nitrex TR2.  I had been using varget for it as well but found some BLC(2) that I wanted to use up so I loaded some 75gr HPBT hornady bullets with.  They seem to group better than the same with Varget.
This is 25 shots,  I just couldn't stop with just 5 or 10, I love that gun.

Then I decided to go get the 300 win mag and shoot it as well to check its zero.  Walked back to 250yds and went prone off the dirt, here are the two 3 shot targets from it.  I love the SS 5-20!

And being I was back that far and had the 308 still on the gator I took it and its pet load and gave it a whirl at that distance as well.  Dialed in per JBM and here is the 10 shot result at 250, pulled 2 shots in that group, on in the bull and one slightly low (the target is sideways in the picture).

Fun stuff g!  Looks like you need to bracket 50gr and see how wide that 50gr node is! Excellent

My experience with magnum reloading, expecially 300WM, is that they like fast. Most also shoot better at 300+ than at 100.

BLC2 is producing better groups with heavier bullets than varget in the 223.  Thus far.
