Not sure what country you are from possibly Europe so this may help.   Note SWFA only sells within the U.S.

As for the 1.5-6x42 there are two reticles offered I would pick the #4

  • Matte
  • #8
  • 30mm

Howdy,

Many moons ago and prior to such items being confiscated in Australia, I used one with a 4A reticle

The PSG-1 I carried had "built in" Hensoldt scope.  No way to put anything else on it without MAJOR machine work.  You must be very well off, 9x39... only reason I don't own one, I cannot afford it.  However the Hensoldt, while a fine precision optic, was also a PAIN.  IF I had one, I woould definitely have the receiver worked over and a "rail" installed.

Yes, of the one or two PSG-1 scopes I have seen there have been no special reticules that I can recall.

I would agree with Kickboxer. We must remember that the PSG-1 system pre-dates the current plethora of purpose built P/M precision rifles and optics. At that time most sniper rifles had 4 or 6 power scopes.

Like my SSG69, the PSG-1 would be a nice piece of history to have and use on occasion. However, as magnificent as they are it wouldn't be my first tool of choice today.

The  only PSG-1 I have had any experience with had a Kahles 6x42 and I'm pretty sure it was a mildot.

If it had a Kahles on it, it was either a MSG90 or had been modified.  The PSG-1 up until a few years ago came with the Hensoldt mounted on an unserviceable mount.  The scope reticle was a bullet drop compensated for NATO 7.62 from 100 to 600 yards.  I have been looking for an old manual, but have not found it yet.  IF I can find it, will scan and post a reticle picture.  It was great to 600, difficult to use further (but doable with practice).  Illumination was "spotty", to say the least, never worked right or when needed.  Loved the rifle, would dearly love to own one.   Cheapest I have been able to locate is $7500+ without the scope.  For LONG it was unlawful to import them.  I think when the Clinton gun ban went away, they became legal again.  Truly the most accurate semi-auto I have ever had the pleasure to fire and more accurate than most bolt guns.  With a bag full of 20 round mags, a firestorm could be created that was awesome to behold.  "Fire for effect" brought joy to the heart.
