Does anyone have a "rule of thumb" for determining proper eye relief on a rifle?

For example

Standard Rifle

Carbine Rifle

Magnum Rifle

Zeiss and Leupold tend to have a little more and some of the others like Bushnell, Kahles, (and Swaro?) tend to have a little less.

Input is appreciated!

Not really because everyone is built different, guns throw different and people hold them different.

This is very subjective but I would say.

Standard = 3.5"

Carbine = 3"

Magnum = 4"
