I have read that the new Browning rifle scopes are actually produced by Bushnell. They are said to have Elite 4200 glass and one piece tube and saddle, but are made in 3200 elite powers with standard aluminum 3200 one piece tubes. They also have the same one year free replacement as the Elite series. The Grand Slam and the Browning are both $250.00 at 3-9x40. Which is the best scope optically and mechanically for that price. The browning warranty doesn't worry me as it would be under bushnell a well known scope company. Should it worry me ? How about the Grand Slam warranty?
Is the Nikon Monarch worth an extra $5o.00 over these two scopes?

i would go with the browning over the GS, simply because i dont liek weaver, but there are better scopes out there. the burris FF2 is darn good, the monarch isnt as tough as i would like scopes to be.

OK. If the nikon monarch is worth the $50.00 extra over these two scopes, then how about the bushnell elite 4200 2.5-10x40 without the firefly reticle for $325.00. Is the Elite better than the monarch in overall performance? The one thing I like about the Nikon is the constant eye relief at variable power settings at 3.5 inches. The Bushnell Elite boasts a 3.3 inch eye relief which is less than the nikon. Does anyone know if the Elites eye relief is a constant 3.3, or is that just the average eye relief between all magnifications?

the elite is VERY much superior to the monarch, if you can sppend the money, go for it.

Shouldn't worry you at all, Bushnell is handling the warranty and Browning has been licensing their name out for years.   The Grand Slam has a standard limited lifetime.  I don't think the Nikon is worth the extra $50. personally but it would have a whole lot better resale value (over the Browning) if that means anything to ya.
