I owned a Kahles 3.9x42 1" with 4-reticle. And it wasn´t watertight at all, everytime when I went hunting this scope was a milkbottle. Succeeded to return it and got my money back. No more Kahles to me. This is why i want Zeiss and Leupold (and maybe swarovski and S&B).

dude every scope maker turns out a lemon every now and then i think you jumping off the wagon a little early, ford gm dodge all turn out a crappy car from time to time and kahles and swaro and zeiss and leupold and im sure even s&b turn out a bad scope once in a while.

If it leaked water in like that it must have been degassed long ago. Must have fogged and condensated like mad.

Yours "may" be the first Kahles failure I remember seeing around here.

I agree with the others about lemons, but I also understand your reluctance to purchase another as well.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

The conquests and leupolds are good scopes alright, S&B and swaro are excellant but another step up in the optics dollar ladder. What scope will you try next?
