What about some of the moderately priced (under $250) electronic red dot-type sights from Nikon ( $250), Sightron ($200), and Burris ($175)? Must I spend a bunch more to get a reliable sight? Thanks…

I posted a brief review in the "Member's reviews" section.  I've been playing with it since then and I like it a lot.   I kicked it around a little to test durability and it seems to hold up fine.

Probably got zapped when the forum changed over to the new system.

As for the dot size I really like the 2 moa aim point, I have a 4moa aimpoint on a slug gun but 4moa translates to 8 inches at 200 yds and eaven for deer I want more precision than that, I can live with a 4 in dot at 200 yds. The  Millet goes down to 3moa so might be Ok, the larger dots dont make a lot of sense to me but what worries me is the cheap red dots I tried had to have consistent cheekweld to be accurate and aimpoint doesnt.

Hello

heck we have just now got the first model out.  We are working on the designs for the other ones and they will be out later in 08.   The changes will be small details to the basic design.

If the book you are asking about is the catalog, just call or send in a request and we will get one out to you.   The web site is complete as far as the catalog goes.  you can down load if you like.

Good shooting.

HI

I have the book and if you are interested in history, sniping and military the Plaster book is well worth the $$.  it will not likely come out in paper back as its a coffee table type book with excellent illistrations.

John will be signing books and have some for sale at the show.   Both the ulitmate and history.

Good shooting

I've never seen a clearer red DOT not  a cluster. I've sold a few and have had no complaints. You get a better sight than an Aimpoint for less money

Thanks for the support.   we are shipping the ZOOM DOT there are no backorders right now as we have built a new Clean room to increase production.   The zoom dot is one hell of  sight,  Its the solution to the other reddot sights weaknesses.   Law enforcement and Mil pricing if you call 800 MILLETT.

hope I am not advertising too much.

good shooting

Steve,

That Zoom-Dot is one hell of a sight!  I just got back from the Yakima Training Center and I have had som great success with the zoom dot.  I got one back in August and put it on my work gun.  I have not touched the zero since that time.  It has riden around in the back of my Stryker numerous times since zeroing the weapon.  I have gotten all eight wheels off the ground with my M4 in the back on several occasions and have experieinced NO loss of zero.  I can take it out of the back of the vehicle, go right to the firing line and start popping targets to 300 meters with ease.  My biggest complaint with the Aimpoit is that it can't hold zero.  I don't know what you did, but that is not a problem with the Zoom-Dot.  When I put the dot down to 1 MOA, I was able to make consistent hits at 500 meters from the prone unsupported.  I understand that this is beyond the limits of what the Zoom-Dot was designed to do, but it is nice to be able to do it anyhow.  This Zoom-Dot is the standard!!Griffin99
