I recently purchased a Kahles KX 3-10X50 and mounted it with Talley mounts (med height) on my rem. 30.06.  There is barely any clearance to put the Kahles flip covers the scope came with on and I ended up modifying the objective cover by cutting a wedge from the bottom of the cover.  It now fits but with the slightest bump it flips open!

Any suggestions on a better set-up for flip covers with minimal clearance on the objective?  I have a pair of Butler Creek covers on a different scope and have been happy with them.  I was planning on seeing if they would work but looking for any other suggestions...?

I just purchased a 3-9x42 CL off the sample list and ran into the same problem with my Ruger. I ended up going with high rings which sucks, but that was the only way I could clear the ocular with the bolt handle and still use the flipups.
