Does anybody know if the SS10x42 will fit on a Savage/Stevens long action?

Thanks,

Smitty

I'm not an optics master here, but wouldn't that depend more on the base and rings rather than the length of the action?  I might be missing something.

Tennessean is dead on.

There should be no problem there, if your using the right rings and base. the scopes mounting length is a good match for the action.

I measured a savage long action today that had two piece weaver bases and it's going to be very close, too close to assume it will fit. I'll have to remeasure.  If it does fit there won't be any adjusting for eye relief so thats another consideration.

Ironsighter makes an affordable 1 piece base and I will call them tomorow to get the slot spacing.  Are there any other inexpensive one piece weaver bases that you guys know of?

Millet makes one but its over $40.  The Ironsighter is $12.

The rifle I'm considering is the Stevens in 30-06 and I don't want to have to buy an expensive picatinny base to get my SS scope to fit.  This rifle is mostly for fun at the range with the slight possibility of using it for deer hunting.  CMP ammo is cheap and is other 30-06 surplus ammo.  If the SS doesnt fit I may consider the same rifle in 223 but I'm hesitant because it's only marginal for deer hunting.  I may have to become a Super Sniper myself to kill a deer with it!

Thanks,

Smitty

The ironssighter base makes for a good fit.
