I am looking for a compact optic for a 16" AR build in 6.5 Grendel caliber. I would prefer an illuminated reticle as this will be used for hunting and low-light shots are a certainty. As the realistic shooting distance will be 200 yards max, I've set my sights on the Leupold VX III in 1.5 x 5 x 20 as my benchmark - but I would like to find a similar quality optic that is a bit less spendy. How does the similar Weaver Classic glass compare, and are there other alternatives besides the Burris Euro Diamond? Thanks in advance.

How 'bout the Millett DMS-1 from SWFA?

I have one.  I paid $229.00 for it.

It is illuminated.

Thanks for the reply. It is a possibility, although I don't care for the reticle that was on the Gen 1 model (what it appears to be on the Millett web site). Is the Gen 2 reticle different?

How long it the DMS-1?

That is not a good representation of the reticle.
