Ok - i get antsy from time to time and have to buy something new.

i just recieved a pair of MINOX 6.5x32 binos from the folks at SWFA.

initial impression...........fantastic.

for the money? beyond fantastic.

i had read koshkin's post some time ago about the image being very sharp and contrasty - and 'flat' like most sport focus (IF) models.

these are all true statements, but nonetheless the image is quite nice. very crisp / very vivid.

field of view is kinda narrow, but i can live with it.

i have always liked sport focus binos (steiner, fujinon, etc.) and was looking for a 'smaller' bino w/ decent lowlight ability.

these fit the bill perfectly.

they seem very well made and are quite heavy for their size. very heavy for their size, actually.

they SAY that's a sign of quality though.

i am going to compare them to my 7x50 fujions this evening for a lowlight test.

i think on resolution alone, they should fare quite well.

anyone looking for a low-cost, smaller, autofocus bino should gives these a look.

i am very pleased with mine so far.

J
