I have been looking at a Kahles 2.5X10X50 for a while now and have decided its the one for me.  Has anyone used one of these 30mm Kahles?  Whats your expeirence with them?  Or should I hold out for a Diavari or Swarovski PH?  Also any suggestions for reticles, I'm partial to a 4A or 7A/

Thanks

I have both the Kahles and the Zeiss Diavari (along with a Conquest, Monarch Gold, S&B and Bushnell 4200). While I believe the Diavari is better optically, my next scope purchase will probably be another Kahles. I believe it's a better value for the money. However, if you can go with a 1" tube you may be surprised how good the Conquest is at less than half the price !!

As for reticles, choose the one that best fits your hunting conditions, game, style, etc.

flip a coin - the kahles C series and the Zeiss Diavaris are ridiculously good.

if you are on a budget, the KX series from kahles has the same glass/coatings.

#4 reticles are excellent in the lowlight.

good luck!!

Thanks mlipski01, I currently have a 3X9 Conquest, Kahles 3X9 AH and a LPS 4.5X14 I beleive.  well they are not actually mine but my freinds, I have looked through them countless times day and night and at deer at night and have come up with my conclusion on those.  The Conquest like you said is a really good scope for the money very bright but just not as sharp as the Kahles AH.  And the LPS has been a dissapointment to me, I'm not impressed at all.

I just wanted to jump into a Euro 30mm just one time for my 270WSM Eclipse.  Beleive me I cant afford to be purchasing high dollar scopes all the time so this really counts for me on what I buy.  Just getting a little confused

Johnbravado, sorry  I ment the 4 not the 4A is the one I was looking at under the Kahles site.  Just going back and forth from site to site.  Thanks for the suggestion on the Kahles and Ziess, but I hope it does not come down to a coin toss.

Go with the Kahles. You will be happy !!

By the way I also have a "thing" for 30 mm tubes. I know it adds weight, does not increase light transmission, etc, etc, but they just look better with a 50 mm objective lens !!

I just bought a Kahles 2.5x10x50 with the 30mm tube.  I also have two Zeiss Diavari scopes.  I hunt pigs in low light/moon light conditions.  The Kahles is comparable to the Zeiss for less money.  I bought mine from the samle list.  I like the price and the performance.  I got the 7A reticle in the Kahles the Diavari scopes have the Z plex which can be very heavy at higher magnification.  I guess the 30mm tube scopes have better glass because they sure seem to pick up light better than the 1" scopes.

Keep it comming, thats what I like to here.   Thanks for the replies, I'm trying to justify spending that kind of money, and so far it sounds well worth it.

well, again, look at the kahles KX line -they are optically comparable to the C series. and quite less costly.

good luck and let us know what you decide - welcome the OT, btw.

Thanks again jonbravado,  I just wanted to do it once, a real Euro 30 mm and go all out.  Now just saving up  and hopefully making a purchase the end of April.
