I got excited when I saw those Nikon Monarch's in 2-7X32 for just $196.95 and thought that would be perfect for my .22........ then I wondered about shooting at 20 yds and such and concerned about the parallax thing.

Should I be worried about this or not?    If so, can the parallax be changed from 100 to 50 yds without costing a lot?

edit=fixed typo

that parallax is probably set for 100 yrds - at the lowest magnification, there should'nt be much of a problem.

look at the weaver rimfires, they are supposed to be great.

i just bought a cheap simmons 22mag and it is pretty damn good for the money. VERY clear and bright.

but NOT highend.

I have 2 of the Simmons .22 Mags..... one 4x and the other 3-9x.... and they both work great!  I'm not 100% sure why I want the Nikon.....but seems like too good a deal to pass up.  I could put it on the Savage 99 in .284 as well.  I'm going to get 2 more of the Savage 93R17, one for my second son and one for me!  I got my oldest son one a couple of years ago and it is so much fun to shoot.  The younger son and I shot 9 squirrels Sunday and most of them with the .17......... I'm telling you it was so much fun!  That 17 just drops them dead!  Anyway, thought I could use a Nikon for one of them.

I usually shoot with the scope set to 4x, so I guess what I'm hearing is that the 100 yd setting shouldn't be an issue.  And I won't be zooming up the power for close shots anyway!

Koshkin...... thanks for the pm with the Parallax link!

On a side note  -  Damn Gators
