I received this scope in a box for x-mas.

 

I see in the instructions how to set the BDC dial and sight it in, no problem there.

 

But I do not understand the use of the front lens rotation.  I am assuming this is some form of range-finder, correct?  The information that came with the scope is limited at best and the Bushnell website is no help.

It is probably an AO scope. This adjustable objective allows you to adjust the scope to be parallax free at different shooting distances. You should see yardage marks on the front ring.

Thanks Henry.  I guess it is too much to ask that the manufacturer include "some" information on the scope's features.
