Ok guys, I apologize for my ignrance in advance, but...

I am going to purchase my first AR type rifle tomorrow.  I am going to try and get a used M4 in good condition, but as bare bones as I can get it.  My first two additions I will get for it(probably tomorrow as well) are going to be a bipod and a scope.

I know next to nothing about scopes so if my criteria is not possible then please let me know....

I want something that I can plink cans, shotgun hulls, and small paper targets at at a range of 100 yards, but maybe up to 200 or 250 yards.

I also do not what this scope to break my bank account....$300 is all I am willing to spend, but if I can find something cheaper, I would MUCH rather have it.

Can you guys please lead me in the right direction, as far as makes/models and prices?

Thanks in advance guys!

Welcome to The OT!!

Can you tell us a little more about what your intended purpose is going to be with your AR??

Or in other words, what kind of shooting are you looking to do??

My AR's have always been setup for 100 yd or less shooting scenarios, so I like a red dot optic.

What else do you want to know?  The rifle is going to be used for pretty much nothing more than what I said in the first post...If there is some other detail I am leaving out, please let me know.

Here's my recommendation.

The 10x Super Sniper.

Super Sniper would work well.

If you want to spend less, get a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 for a couple hundred.
