I bought used rifle rifle at the shop that has a Mark4 3.5-10×40 scope on it. Looks like any other Mark4 I owned in the past.  I often call Leupold to verify that scope is authentic.   With this one they could not find it in their records but according to serial number it dates to 2006.   Is there any way to check that the scope is authentic?  It does appear to be and I owned a couple of Mark4 scope over the years.

I mean if the call to leupold resulted in them telling you the serial # wasn't legit that would be my answer.

They said that there no record in their system of that number. But the number dates it 2006. (?).
