Hope that doesn’t happen to you guys ‘cause it was a real cluster f*** here when they brought it in. Thankfully we got rid of it a few years ago.

BATFE has become the U.S. equivalent of the Nazi Reich Ministry for Weapons, Munitions and Armament... same song, different verse...

They have changed over the years.  My roommate in college went Austin PD then to  ATF and both his brothers were also ATF and they were great guys.  My last dealing with ATF was about 2002 and the agent was really not very polite considering everyone involved was law enforcement,  but we did work out our disagreement.  I think most of them are just not gun guys they tend to be pushy liberals where most cops tend to be conservatives. A friend who is a Deputy US Marshall had a 1911 cocked and locked when he walked in their office and they freaked out, but what can I say unless you are familiar with it you don't know that's the only way to put the safety on. Like any law enforcement job a little extra patience and an  explanation when  working with the public would result in a lot less complaints.
