I have a set of Leitz 12 x 50s that are in excellent condition, except for the leatherette covering on one of the barrels. Leica cannot provide repair service for this type of concern. Does anyone know of a binocular repair service that would re-cover binoculars? Please advise. Just discovered this forum...High today of 42-ask me if I live in Minnesota...

You can do it yourself, if a bit on a handy side. Clean throughly, use paper templates for cutting the leather, make sure that the leather fits perfectly, degrease and clean again. glue with epoxy gel (sparingly). Dark brown rattlesnake leather should look fine.
