Anyone killed big game with one yet. Like an elk? Curious how they held up. I was hoping to shoot a deer with a 143 6.5 this year but didn’t find one big enough to shoot. I have read mixed reports that they are not strong enough. So curious about first hand experiences.

I killed a deer with a 150 ELD-X out of a 7-08 last year. I wouldn't say it was a difficult test for the bullet. Shot distance was around 75 yds, the shot was just behind the shoulder, and the buck dropped. It made a pretty good mess inside and had an exit wound a little larger than a quarter.  That has been my only game animal shot with the -X so far. I wasn't unhappy with its performance but again, not exactly a tough test.

They have certainly shot very well out of the rifles I've tried them in.

I have some 178gr ones I am going to load in my 308 and see how they shoot, once I get my house sold and all my stuff moved to my wife's house. Assuming she will "allow" me the priviledge of setting up a loading area.

Based upon what I am seeing since Remington worked their lack of quality control management on the gun, it should shoot them very well.

I just bought a pound of IMR4064, so I will tinker with it and the BL-C(2) and see what I get. I have a little CFE223 too, but it will take some tinkering with charges. Those bullets are LOOOOOOONG!!
