I post here information which I obtained from Swarovski Tech Service and Barrett Rilfles.

This is for those of you considering the Rpofessional Hunter/Tactical series 10X Swarovski telescopes

#1. Ranging Reticle Telescope  "  CHRISTMAS TREE" reticle

Swarovski & Barrett apparently decided that M8  .50 BMG AP/Multipurpose BW +/- 663 Gr  , BC 0.675, MV +/- 2,900 fps was the standard for the "Christmas Tree"  500 > 2,000 yd  range scale.   (33-36 inch Barrel)

The IMI produced Barrett 50  ammo  ( M33) matches the M8 MV/BW/BC etc close enough so you can shoot this new fresh Ball ammo with the Christmas Tree .  Accuracy of the AMMO ( not the scope, not the rifle) is specified by IMI @ Ave Mean Radius = 12.0 inches at 600 yds. This does not mean YOUR RIFLE/ SCOPE will not shoot better. It is a manufacturing spec.

If you select another 50BMG bullet /load other than the M8 or M33 the Christmas tree will not necessarily be on point  across the range of fire.

So, with the Ranging Reticle Swarovski you have a source of FRESH , HIGH QUALITY AMMO from Barrett which should work just fine with this scope.  Not bench rest accuracy but @ $250/  80 rnds you have some good ball ammo for this scope

The Swarovski Ranging Reticle Telescope is paralex free @500m , twilight performance 20.5, exit pupil 4.2mm, 1/4 MOA adjustments( 75 MOA vert & 75 MOA horizontal)

Telescoping dampening occular > (can be very important if you get up too close)

Reticle is etched in glass .. no wires

Reticle has point of impact 500m> 2000m / 100m increments/ further broken to 25m steps, 9 vert mill dots for range estimation, 5 mph & 10mph crosswind defletion markings on all horizontal steps

The accompanying manual tells you how to get your 500 m point of impact by sighting at exactly 33 meters from the end of the barrel ( not the muzzle break)

All in all a good 50BMG tactical scope and at a fair price at SWFA

#2 Swarovski 10 X Mil-Dot Telescope

The Mil-Dot version is the SAME scope as the Ranging Reticle only it has an etched Mil-Dot Reticle and Target Knobs

Again a very good rugged scope for Tactical/ Hunting ( not bench rest) long distance. This reticle is of course applicable to any calibre rifle

Add a scope level  if you plan to shoot at longer ranges

Both 30mm scopes are marked Barrett

Many thanks for the very good technical information.  I'll add a picture of the "Christmas Tree" reticle to aid in your explanations.
