Subject says it all.  I have an Aadland gripper that should be here today.  I also have it in a one-piece SWFA/Bobro mount whose rings are so close together, I doubt the gripper will fit and still allow me to actually turn the knob.

Anyway, I have been playing with the focus knob for the last hour, and my finger tips are literally swollen and red.  I am trying to work the knob back and forth as much as I can to try to move the grease around and smooth things out (as recommended by SWFA) but so far this isn't working.

I remember replacing the grease in my old SS10x's turrets with dielectric grease to make the clicks less mushy.  I don't suppose there is any way the end user can replace the grease in the focus knob, right?  Probably too risky to try removing it at home.

This scope might be going back to SWFA for some warranty work.  Just wondering if anyone has had any success in making the side focus knob actually usable.  Right now, mine is not.

Thanks.

IF you've worked it and its no better send it back and SWFA will take care of it.  I took mine off the gun and just held the focus knob in my hand and spun the scope back and forth because it was easier than twisting the knob.... like you said, fingers get to hurtin'
